2025 Keynote Speaker, Rueben Mayes
Rueben Mayes brings a deep passion for people, leadership, and philanthropy to his role at Seattle Children's Hospital, where he helps secure resources to support the hospital's mission. A two-time consensus All-American and National College Hall of Fame Inductee, Rueben was also named NFL Rookie of the Year and selected to multiple Pro Bowls. A standout running back, Rueben had a successful college football career at Washington State University, where he set several records, and went on to play for the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. His athletic success has paved the way for lasting relationships, complementing his 29 years of leadership and fundraising experience. Rueben earned his MBA in 2000.
In his current role, Rueben works closely with the Seattle Children’s Hospital and Foundation teams, regional clinics, organizational partners, donors, and volunteers to build regional philanthropic support for key hospital priorities. He is also an active member of the hospital’s regional partnerships team.
Rueben and his wife, Marie, who are both WSU alumni, have been married for over 36 years and have two sons, Logan and Kellen. In his free time, Rueben enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, swimming, and snow skiing.
