Following in the footsteps of My Mother and Aunt who were also accomplished artists; I have been painting ever since I was in the third grade. Some of my fondest memories were painting with my Mother. My Dad used to take me to the local fair to enjoy the carnival and rides, but watching painting demonstrations and looking at art was much more fascinating. This fascination led to a college degree in fine art and the opening of the first arts program at Eastern Idaho Technical College. I also taught at Idaho State University and had workshops at many local art galleries. Over a thousand students, 213 murals, 257 ribbons and awards, and many decorative art projects later, my artistic passion has blossomed into a full time career. I do 26 art shows a year and teach 2 nights a week in the winter. “There is something about picking up a brush and turning a plain surface into something beautiful that really gives me a huge sense of gratification.” Having your art on the outside of buildings and in people’s homes is the greatest compliment a person could get.
My work is done in mixed media. Brush, pallet knife and airbrush are used to obtain the type of effect intended. All of my canvas (Giclee) prints are produced in my own studio for quality control. I paint on location, which gives the prospective buyer a chance to see my work in progress and draws attention to my type of style. Being able to sell most of paintings on location gives me great satisfaction. I paint, large murals, still life’s, garden art, seascapes, landscapes, portraits, cartoon characters, floral and bathroom art. In my spare time I do chain saw carving by request.

2009 Jennifer Evenhus Festival Art Print
The 2009 Art Print is titled "Early Spring Orchard" - a portrait of a young apple orghard in early spring, nestled against the foothills of East Wenatchee, and measures 19 1/2" x 21". Jennifer Evenhus is a nationally recognized, award winning artist from East Wenatchee. She graduated from Eastmont High School in 1970. Jennifer's bold use of color is what first attracts the eye. Her subject is often paint itself, fascinated with the painterly effects one can achieve with pastels, or the wonderful transparency of oils. Whether with oils or pastels, Jennifer enjoys the process of painting as much as completing the work. Always sorry to see the journey end, Jen describes the process as a journey through unknown territory.
Even though she has a good idea of the outcome she wants, she is careful not to become locked into an idea, staying open to all those little accidents that happen along the way, careful not to cover them up. These accidents she describes as unforeseen treasures that give a painting character, depth, and movement. Jennifer's work is often very abstract, using earthscapes as a starting point, she paints out most of the detail, leaving just enough for the viewer to become lost in a new world. She alludes her abstract work to the Japanese 'Haiku,' a short poem of 17 syllables, an art form her grandmother, Charlotte Pilgrim, taught her.
Jennifer and her husband, Stan, have been married for 38 years and have a son, Jason and a daughter, Tessa, and 3 grandchildren. She has been at the First United Methodist Church for the past 11 years as their Communications Director.

2008 Brad Brisbine Festival Art Print
Sold Out - please call Pak-it-Rite (509) 663-1072
Reserve your 2008 Apple Blossom Festival Art Print, only 300 signed and numbered prints will be available, for $46 each. The Art Print, by local artist, Brad Brisbine, is the 17th limited edition art print for the Festival and is titled, “A Delicious Apple Blossom.” This year’s print is sponsored by Wenatchee ’s Cashmere Valley Bank and was printed by Commercial Printing. The print, as seen in the upper right hand corner, is 20” by 24” in size.
Brad Brisbine was raised in Wenatchee under the long shadows of Saddlerock, working the family fruit orchards. Brad feels blessed to have been born into an artistic family. He and his brothers drew extensively from an early age, while their Mother wrote poetry and their Dad invented and made tools for his electrical contracting business.
Although Brad enjoyed an oil painting class taught by Robert Graves in 1974, his pursuit of an architecture career kept him from oil painting for 25 years. In 1999, he picked up the brush again after being inspired by a Thomas Moran painting exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum.
To make up for lost time, Brad knew he would need to find strong mentors. Rod Weagant (Apple Blossom Art Print Artist 1997) taught Brad how to paint “Plein-Air” directly from Nature, and the benefits of minimizing detail. William F. Reese (Apple Blossom Art Print Artist 1996) worked with him over the next several years explaining how an artist sees, and the fundamentals of making a painting - composition, values, color temperature, edges, and more. Recently Brad attended a workshop by Russian Impressionist Ovanes Berberian.
Brisbine describes his current style as somewhere between impressionism and painterly realism. His favorite subject is Cascade Mountain high lakes and enjoys frequent backpacking trips to research his next image.
The 2008 Apple Blossom Art Print is titled “A Delicious Apple Blossom,” and is the view from Brad’s Sunnyslope home looking south down the Columbia River.

“This year’s art print fits perfectly into our festival theme. Kerry’s painting of the orchard at harvest provides the flavor of life on our area family farms.” says Art Print Chair Jeff Neher. “If you look closely at the bin ticket you will see Kerry’s initial’s. Having an artist with Kerry’s talent along with her orchard background makes this year’s artist a great fit for the festival. Her paintings stir memories and emotions of what makes us proud to call this valley our home.”

After college, Kerry moved with her husband to Dallas where she was hired as the sole staff watercolorists at the prestigious Beaux Gallery. 10 years and a baby later, she and her family have moved back home to reside in Wenatchee. Kerry works in a unique blend of watercolor, ink and gouache and also paints oil on canvas. Kerry has a special love for this part of the state and each of her paintings has a story behind it.
